The Brazilian superstar, who was forced to vacate the belt after missing weight, is still confident that his impressive fight record will stand to him against his surging compatriot, given that he has picked up 35 wins from 44 fights, with 21 coming by stoppage.
That said, he’s also aware that a fighter’s stats are only as good as his desire for victory, which he has in abundance.
“Having experience is a good thing, because it makes you more confident in fights,” Lineker said.
“Whether it can help me or not depends a lot on what you want, how much you want to win. I believe in that a lot. And that’s why, in all my fights, I always looked for what I wanted. So, the experience will help me to face situations that I’ve been through, and they won’t shake me.”
“Hands of Stone” has developed a thick skin thanks to his years in competition, too, and this allows him not to let an opponent get inside his head.
Andrade has been relentless with shooting taunts and barbs at the bantamweight king, and Lineker has stayed poised and reserved.
His belief that he can get the job done inside the Axiata Arena, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on Friday night keeps his head cool – and even gives him the foresight to offer advice to his upcoming opponent.

“So, I warn him to forget about it [knocking me out] because he won’t knock me out in any round. He’ll just keep it in his imagination because it, sure as hell, won’t happen in real life,” the American Top Team representative added.
“The advice I give to Fabrício is: talk less and do more.”
Lineker’s experience might very well come in handy against Andrade, but his 25-year-old foe, who can claim the ONE Bantamweight World Title this Friday, owns some dangerous weapons that can leave rivals knocked out cold.
