Who knew Wiz Khalifa had such strength? Could he actually hold his own in a real fight?

ONE Flyweight Kickboxing World Champion Superlek Kiatmoo9 is all set to take on Jonathan Haggerty at ONE 168: Denver on U.S. primetime on Friday, September 6. Haggerty will defend his ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Title in a highly exciting clash. Superlek is known for his ridiculous work ethic and stays in shape throughout the year. He once had the opportunity to train with Wiz Khalifa at the Unbreakable Gym in Los Angeles, California, and shared his experience in a recent ES Exclusive.

On being asked, “You have previously trained with rap superstar Wiz Khalifa. What Was the experience like, and how was Wiz Khalifa as a person?” ‘The Kicking Machine’ seemed highly impressed with ‘Wiz’ and said, “It was great! I didn’t even dream of holding pads for him. He was very good and very strong.” Let us take a closer look at what exactly happened in the practice session.

Fans of both Wiz Khalifa and Superlek were surprised by their pairing. After all, it was not every day that stars from completely different worlds worked out so well together. “The Kicking Machine” detailed what they would be going through at the start of their session to set the expectations for the music star. Once they began, it appeared that it was not the rapper’s first time doing this, as he performed well in their workout in Los Angeles. From warm-ups to their pad session, Wiz Khalifa completed drills to perfection, which pleased Superlek.

Apart from training with music royalty, Superlek also works with a world-class team to get him prepared for one of the most important fights of his career at ONE 168. A win against Haggerty will help him become a two-sport and two-division World Champion. While there is a lot of mutual respect between the pair, none want to give away an inch to each other. Let us look at what the fighters are feeling about their upcoming clash.

In the sport of MMA, rivalry between two fighters is never a new thing. However, the upcoming clash at ONE 168: Denver is more than just a rivalry. It’s a battle to prove to the world that one is better than the other. Superlek holds a bit of bragging right after he defeated Haggerty in their previous clash in 2018 outside the ONE Championship. However, the Thai star was never quite satisfied with his that victory and always looked for a rematch.

Superlek now wants to prove to the world that he can indeed beat Haggerty a second time. ‘The General,’ on the other hand, has a lot to prove when he takes on ‘The Kicking Machine’ next. Not only will he have to defend his title, but he will also make sure he avenges his previous loss. The 28-year-old believes that his loss to Superlek came at a time when he was not at the level he is now. Haggerty, as a fighter, has definitely improved a lot since his time in 2018, but one cannot neglect the threat Superlek possesses.

The Thai fighter is on a ten-fight winning streak and has promised his fans that he will win his fight. The two-sport champion isn’t entirely worried about the hype surrounding his opponent, but is rather excited to test him out against one of the best fighters. He said, “I feel our styles are the same. We’re both aggressive. We both come for the knockout. I’d say we’re both up there as pound-for-pound bests. He’s the best in flyweight. I’m the best in bantamweight. So, why not put us together and see who is the best?”
