Anna “Supergirl” Jaroonsak believes that after testing her skills against one of the best in the world, anyone who stands against her will be easy to deal with. However, is her firm belief about to be tested? On Friday, November 3, the rising star will be able to test that notion.
This will be when she takes on Spanish striker Cristina Morales in an atomweight kickboxing bout at ONE Fight Night 16: Haggerty vs. Andrade. After two impressive wins in Muay Thai under the ONE banner, “Supergirl” ventured to kickboxing and took a fight against Stamp Fairtex on two days’ notice at ONE Fight Night 6 this past January.

Despite the quick decision to square off with the Fairtex superstar, Jaroonsak took the fight to Stamp. Their ultra-competitive bout dazzled the world. She may have lost out by a narrow split decision, but “Supergirl” took lessons home.
She learned from her compatriot and used it all to overcome former World Title challenger Lara Fernandez in her next outing at ONE Fight Night 13 in August. She is now a more seasoned martial artist overall and ready to take on the world.
“From my past two fights, I’ve tried to research the kickboxing rules, and especially how to use my knee or other weapons to get points. From the last fight, I now know how to throw my knee not to break the rules. I have more knowledge, so I can adjust better in this fight,” she told ONE in an interview. “Also, I got a lot of confidence after my fight with Stamp. Like, ‘Hey, I just had a really close fight with a World Champion!’ My future opponents shouldn’t be at a higher level.”
Against Morales, the Bangkok native will be facing another experienced fighter, who, like Fernandez, also holds an ISKA Atomweight K-1 World Championship. But Jaroonsak is unfazed as she believes her latest matchups will help her find another win.

Jaroonsak still loves kickboxing
Despite having more freedom to unleash her weapons under Muay Thai rules, “Supergirl” says she enjoys competing in kickboxing because she can push forward more aggressively. And she’s hoping to put in a decisive performance against Morales to help vault her into the World Title conversation.
“I feel like my fans like to watch me in kickboxing because I can fire more punches without being so concerned about the counter-attack on the chin like in Muay Thai with small gloves. I can fight with a fast pace in kickboxing style, and fans like that style, too,” Jaroonsak said. “If I can win this fight, I want to take a shot at gold. I’m very determined. This fight, I need to put on a show and prove that I have the potential to fight in a World Title match.”

Looks like she isn’t planning to back off from any level of the fight. So it’s set in stone, Jaroonsak will be taking on Morales and won’t hold anything back. The question is, which one of the two brilliant fighters will come out on top. Who are you backing up? Let us know in the comments.
