Stamp Fairtex had her source of concern leading up to her ONE Fight Night 10 showdown against Alyse “Lil’ Savage” Anderson at ONE Championship’s debut outing on American soil last Friday, May 5. Yet, the Thai striking dynamo smashed those worries away with ease, dismantling her rival with a pinpoint body kick midway through the second round of their atomweight MMA battle at ONE Fight Night 10: Johnson vs. Moraes III.

Going up against a grappling-heavy athlete and a local hero, Stamp did expect her rival to cut off her rhythm and take over the contest. However, Stamp exceeded expectations and did remarkably well to fend off any threat Anderson brought to the table. That includes a sneaky triangle attack that “Lil’ Savage” tried to pull in the opening stanza.

Alyse Anderson also attacked Stamp Fairtex initially but her resistance dropped with time

Speaking on that exchange, the former two-sport queen shared, “The triangle wasn’t really on because it was on my head, and then I just bided my time to pull my head out. I just bought some time. I wasn’t in any danger because my arm wasn’t in there.”

With Anderson getting frustrated as the match wore on, Stamp took charge and locked in vicious strikes from the clinch. At the same time, the #1-ranked contender and former ONE Atomweight World Title challenger stayed away from Anderson’s takedown attempts.

Anderson refused to give up, though. And she continued to press Stamp into the Circle Wall in the clinch. But the latter used her experience just as the two disengaged from the clinch to land in the match-winning body kick at 2:27 of round two.

Years of Muay Thai training propelled Stamp Fairtex to throw the bout-ending body kick

The 25-year-old broke down that sequence, “In Muay Thai, it’s common practice, right? When someone’s in close range, when they break, you fire off a weapon. It was instinct. It was years and years of training.”

The win was Stamp’s 10th in the all-encompassing sport. More importantly, the top-ranked superstar earned her a shot at the ONE Interim Atomweight World at ONE Championship’s most iconic spectacle yet. Though there hasn’t been any official word on her opponent, Ham “Hamzzang” Seo Hee could possibly be her dance partner. The South Korean was awarded a shot at gold following her win over Itsuki “Android 18” Hirata at ONE Fight Night 8 this past March.
