Former ONE Atomweight Kickboxing and Atomweight Muay Thai World Champion Stamp Fairtex wants to reclaim her status as a two-sport queen. And though she also has her eyes on a third World Title, the Thai megastar has decided to put a pause on her mixed martial arts journey to give ONE Atomweight World Champion “Unstoppable” Angela Lee time to grieve following the tragic loss of her younger sister, and fellow ONE athlete, Victoria Lee.

Speaking in an interview after her victory over Anna “Supergirl” Jaroonsak in their strawweight kickboxing battle at ONE Fight Night 6: Superbon vs. Allazov on Prime Video this past Friday, January 14, she said, “I would like to use this time to reclaim my title in kickboxing and Muay Thai because I still feel sad about what happened with Angela Lee and the Lee family. So, that will take a while. And after a while, I’ll go back to MMA for Angela Lee.”

Stamp Fairtex was shattered by the shocking demise of Victoria Lee

It is a true show of class from the Fairtex star, who is keen to establish herself as one of the top athletes on the ONE roster this year. Just days after Angela announced the devastating news of Victoria’s passing on her Instagram, Stamp paid tribute to the young star by wearing a t-shirt with a picture of her on it at the ONE Fight Night 6 Ceremonial Weigh-Ins and Faceoffs.

Later, in an exclusive interview with SCMP MMA, Stamp revealed that she was absolutely devastated, and she wished nothing but comfort and respect to the entire Lee family.

Though she will put a pause on her MMA exploits, Stamp’s win over “Supergirl” last weekend has instilled a renewed her confidence in her striking skills – one that she will use to work herself into the World Title picture in both atomweight kickboxing and Muay Thai.

ONE Atomweight Kickboxing World Champion and Interim Atomweight Muay Thai World Champion Janet “JT” Todd and atomweight Muay Thai queen Allycia Hellen Rodrigues were slated to unify their belt at ONE on Prime Video 5 last year, but Todd had to withdraw from the tie after testing positive for COVID-19.

With no further confirmation on that World Title unification match, there’s every reason to believe Stamp could earn a trilogy bout with Todd for the American’s kickboxing gold.

And if she gets that out of the way, Stamp could vie for a shot at the winner of the Todd-Rodrigues showdown, which is expected to take place sometime this year.
