The announcement of the ONE Friday Fights series by the ONE boss, Chatri Sidyodtong, marked a significant occurrence in the world of combat sports. The newly launched ‘Friday-based’ events have already drawn massive crowds in the first two events. ONE Championship is all set to host the third event of this series, ‘ONE Friday Fights 3’, at its usual venue, the Lumpini Stadium in Bangkok.

ONE Friday Fights 3 is expected to be a captivating event with a number of enthralling matchups. The main event of the night will feature an all-Thai Flyweight Muay Thai bout between homeboys, Chorfah Tor. Sangtiennoi and Petsukumvit Boi Bangna. The noted Thai MMA icon, Shannon Wiratchai, is also scheduled to make his awaited return this Friday. He will be taking on the Iranian, Poriya Golpour in a featherweight MMA bout that night.

The main eventer of the night, Chorfah Tor. Sangtiennoi didn’t have a favorable ONE debut. The Thai tasted defeat against his Russian opponent, Tagir Khalilov, in his first-ever ONE Championship bout at ONE 164. Even more shockingly, Chorfah fell to his Russian opponent in the first round itself. Understandably, he would be eyeing to make the most of his second outing.

Shannon Wiratchai had also been on a four-fight losing streak prior to his previous outing. But, the ’34-year-old’ returned to the winning books successfully after a split-decision win over Fabio Pinca in August 2020.

His 25-year-old opponent, Golpour, will also step into the ring with a win in his previous outing. The Iranian had his last bout in his home country, where he scored a first-round KO victory.

ONE Friday Fights 3 is also expected to be an enthraller like previous ones

The Lumpinee Stadium had always showcased awesome hospitality to ONE Championship. The last ONE event in Lumpini Stadium featured a bantamweight Muay Thai clash between Sor. Jor. Piek Uthai and Sangmanee PK. Saenchai. Also, Piek Uthai managed to get the better of PK. Saenchai in the bout through unanimous decision.

The first event of this series, the ‘ONE Friday Fight 1’ was headlined by the noted ONE bantamweight Muay Thai champion, Nong-O Gaiyanghadao. The Thai managed to defend his Championship in his outing against the Russian, Alaverdi Ramazanov.
