After an extended period on the sidelines because of injury and an unfortunate mishap that further delayed his return, the #5 ranked ONE bantamweight Muay Thai contender, Liam Harrison, is champing at the bit to get back in the Circle. He’s looking ahead to his return at ONE 168: Denver this September at the Ball Arena, where he will face Thai veteran Seksan Or Kwanmuang in a catchweight Muay Thai bout at 140 lbs.

With nearly three decades of experience in the fight game, Harrison is grateful for the wealth of experiences, both good and bad, that he got from Muay Thai. In a recent social media post, he offered his thoughts on how to get into the sport and how he still maintains the same passion for it after all these years.

Liam Harrison’s professional Muay Thai journey began in 2000 under the tutelage of Richard Smith at Bad Company Gym in Leeds, UK. He quickly transitioned to kickboxing right after that. Now 38, Harrison has dedicated nearly two and a half decades to combat sports professionally. This passion is evident in his determination to return after a serious knee injury. In his recent Instagram video, Harrison shared a message packed with advice for aspiring Muay Thai fighters or those interested in martial arts.

Get into a gym,” Liam Harrison said while adding, “do a little bit of research in your area. No matter where are you on the planet, just do a little bit of research, find a good gym, get in there, and just start.” He acknowledged the potential for discouragement, saying, “But every fighter that you see out there- Saenchai, Superlek, myself-everyone one of us had to walk through that gym door for the first time.

Harrison recognized the fear of change but stressed that once you get started in Muay Thai, it becomes addictive. Liam Harrison’s recent advice is pure gold for aspiring fighters, and it applies to him as well. After all, he’s a multi-time Muay Thai and kickboxing world champion with over 90 wins across various promotions throughout his career. His experience will certainly be a key factor when he takes on Seksan in his next outing.

Harrison anticipates an intense fight against Seksan

Muay Thai legend Liam Harrison is ready to rumble in Denver! ONE Championship hits the US in less than three months, and Harrison’s already got his fight face on. Despite not pushing through with his scheduled ONE 167 bout, he’s mentally prepared to move on to his next challenge in the form of Seksan Or Kwanmuang. “The Man Who Yeilds To No ONE” is motivated to get back the win column after getting his eight-fight win streak snapped by promotional newcomer Yutaro Asahi at ONE Friday Fights 58 last April.

“Hitman” has clamored for a fight against Seksan as they are at a similar career stage right now, and it will be interesting to see which of the two veteran stars will show that they still have plenty left in their tank. So, which team are you on? Let us know in the comments below.
