ONE Championship heavyweight champion, Arjan Bhullar, has not competed in the circle since April 2021. When he last fought, he captured the title with a TKO win over Brandon Vera in the second round.

The former UFC fighter is on a four-fight win streak and 2-0 in his current promotion. However, he was in a contract dispute with his employers and even declined multiple offers to defend his belt under his contract. But things seem to be headed in the right direction now, according to Chatri Sityodtong.

In a recent interview, he said, “Arjan, we’ve been unfortunately having negotiation difficulties, but it does look like there’s light at the end of the tunnel. I just spoke to Nez, who’s the head of sports at CAA. An outstanding gentleman, a really good guy, and I think we’ve come to happy terms where everyone feels good. And we want to move forward together.”

“It was pretty rough initially, the last, I don’t know, maybe a year, I don’t know. Because I wasn’t involved in those negotiations until the very, very last minute literally, where they’re like, we’re not going to get anything solved Chatri unless you’re stepping in. I genuinely don’t get involved in an athlete. That’s normally Matt Hume and his department. Maybe three times, five times I’ll get involved with athlete discussions.”

“It’s definitely looking good and I’m a fan of Arjan. I think he’s a phenomenal guy, and he’s an outstanding athlete and represents a country that has 1.3 billion people and ONE is on the largest broadcaster there. Free to air and digital, so it makes sense for all of us to work together.”

Chatri Sityodtong is open to fighting Dana White

Recently, the ONE Championship social media posted a video of the founder training. In the caption, they asked if people would like to see Chatri fight, Dana White.

According to Sityodtong, the social media team was just having fun with it, but wouldn’t completely dismiss the idea of fighting White. During an appearance on The MMA Hour, he said, “I’m a lifelong martial artist. I’ve been doing Muay Thai for 35 years and I’m a jiu-jitsu brown belt. I train five, six times a week. If there’s a fight with someone my age, why not?”

Both men are among some of the most famous personalities in the world of combat sports. If they ever decide to go head-to-head, lots of people will tune in to see them dish it out. However, it seems highly unlikely that this fight will ever happen.
