Prajanchai PK Saenchai was a man on a mission this past weekend to avenge his loss, and he is now looking for something new.

At ONE Friday Fights 46: Tawanchai vs Superbon this past weekend, the PK Saenchai standout defeated Joseph Lasiri to unify the ONE Strawweight Muay Thai World Championship in front of an adoring fan base inside the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium.

“The Hurricane” looked confident as he walked to the ring and even proceeded to provoke the Thai striker with a taunting dance before their match even began.

It would fuel Prajanchai even more to earn a convincing win, and he proceeded to stop the Italian warrior in the 1:28 mark of the first round.

Following his win, he offered his thoughts on his rival’s antics at the beginning of the match during a post-fight interview with ONE.

“I think the way he was taunting me was the psychological game used among athletes and it just doesn’t faze me in any way. He tried to make me angry and make me play his game, but it just didn’t work,” he said.

Prajanchai lost the division’s top prize to Lasiri at ONE 157 in May 2022 after failing to answer the fourth round bell of their match.

Since then, he has racked off three straight victories, which included a knockout win over the man he took the World Title from in his first reign, Sam-A Gaiyanghadao. The win allowed him to claim the ONE Interim Strawweight Muay Thai World Title and secure his inevitable rematch with Lasiri.

Is PK Saenchai the best fighter in his division?

With his latest win, he has proven that he is worthy to be considered the best fighter in his division. What made the victory even more special was that the country’s prime minister was in attendance to watch him take back the gold for Thailand.

However, he appears to be open to taking on a new challenge in a new sport when asked if he’s willing to face ONE Strawweight Kickboxing World Champion, Jonathan Di Bella.

“Yes, definitely. If there’s a chance for me to face Jonathan Di Bella, I’d take it. I’ve followed him since his ONE debut, and I feel like he’s a very dangerous and tough fighter. It would be a great match if I got to face him,” said the 29-year-old.
