Superlek’s 10th consecutive victory at ONE Friday Fights 68

The co-main event saw one of the best fights of ONE Friday Fights 68, as the flyweight Muay Thai clash between Superlek Kiatmoo9, the ONE Flyweight Kickboxing World Champion, and Kongthoranee Sor Sommai delivered on its promise of being a striking spectacle.

Superlek extended his winning streak to 10 by dominating the fight with his vaunted kicks. For his part, Kongthoranee appeared hesitant with his attacks but managed to land some clean counters.

Ultimately, the judges agreed that Superlek was the better man on that night and awarded him a unanimous decision victory. The win secured “The Kicking Machine’s” spot in the divisional rankings and improved his record to 157-29. Meanwhile, Kongthoranee’s impressive seven-fight win streak has come to an end, but with the skills he displayed against the top-ranked fighter, he will surely find himself in the divisional rankings very soon.

Superlek Kiatmoo9 will now shift his focus solely on his next scheduled bout, which is to challenge Jonathan Haggerty for the ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Title at ONE 168: Denver on September 6.

Kiamran Nabati Secures US$100K Contract

In a high-voltage bantamweight Muay Thai fight, Kiamran Nabati emerged victorious via knockout in the first round of his bout against Suablack Tor Pran49. This win not only netted him a US$10,000 bonus for his performance but also secured him a six-figure contract to compete on ONE Championship’s global roster.

The fight also held significance for Suablack Tor Pran49, who sought revenge for his previous knockout loss to Nabati outside of the ONE Championship in 2023. However, Suablack was unable to achieve redemption.

Nabati showcased his skills, employing a circling strategy and landing a perfectly timed counter left hook, similar to his 2023 victory. Suablack collapsed to the ground, prompting the referee to stop the fight at the 54-second mark of the first round. This knockout not only secured Nabati a life-changing contract but also cemented his dominance in the ring.

Petchtanong Wins Battle Of Former Champions

Another exciting clash featured at the event was the bantamweight kickboxing bout between Petchtanong Petchfergus and Alaverdi Ramazanov. This fight marked the special return of both former champions, who served suspensions for various reasons over the past few months.

Petchtanong, known for his stellar performance, delivered a show that made fans realize what they’d been missing during his 18-month absence. While Alaverdi Ramazanov put up a fight, Petchtanong’s confidence grew steadily throughout the match, ultimately crushing Ramazanov’s spirit.

With a TKO victory in the second round, Petchtanong improved his record to 359-56 and sent a clear message to the world: he’s still a force to be reckoned with in the bantamweight division.

Elsewhere in the card, two other fighters secured US$10,000 bonuses, with Suriyanlek Por Yenying and Pakorn PK Saenchai also being recognized for their brilliant performances.
