With ONE Fight Night 9 knocking at the door, expectedly, the fans were in a lot of excitement. Amid all of these, some good and some bad news came in for the fans. Primarily, the good part was that both the ONE Fight Night 9 main eventers, Nong-O Hama and Jonathan Haggerty, both made their weights and passed the hydration tests successfully. While the untoward part consisted of the news about 3 fighters, missing weight for the same event.
A lot of eyes were specially focussed on the Brit, Jonathan Haggerty, after he had missed weight in his previous bout against the Russian, Vladimir Kuzmin. But this time, he was free from any such issues as he cleared the hydration test on the first attempt. ‘The General’s opponent, Nong-O Hama, also held up to his record of never missing weight in ONE. But the story was a little different for a few other fighters.
Every fighter didn’t have a smooth time like Jonathan Haggerty and Nong-O Hama

Despite the main event appearing all set to get hosted, there were a few other ONE Fight Night 9 bouts that were put under question. One such bout was the Bantamweight Muay Thai showdown between Han Zihao and Asa Ten Pow. Both the contestants for this bout failed their hydration tests on their first attempts, although they were eventually able to pass them.
But, neither of them could make weight as well, which had their bout being renegotiated at Catchweight. However, Han Zihao and Asa Ten Pow weren’t the only ones who missed weight and failed their pre-ONE Fight Night 9 hydration tests.
A few other bouts were also put into doubt after some more ONE Fight Night 9 fighters struggled with their pre-bout weigh-ins and hydration tests.
The bouts of Meng Bo and Jhanlo Mark Sangiao were also placed under question
The noted Chinese ONE fighter, Meng Bo, who’s also considered one of the hardest punchers, also had her bout under question as her Brazilian opponent, Dayane Cardoso failed her initial hydration test. However, she completed it successfully on a later attempt and also made her weight. It gave the green signal to this Chinese vs Brazilian showdown at ONE.

The story was quite similar for the Filipino, Jhanlo Mark Sangiao, as his Argentine opponent, Matias Farinelli, failed his mandatory pre-fight hydration test inside the allotted three-hour window. Farinelli would now be required to weigh in and pass his hydration test in his next attempt, after which their Saturday bout can be renegotiated at a catchweight limit.
Another ONE Fight Night 9 Flyweight Muay Thai bout between Jacob Smith and Denis Puric had to be canceled as well. Smith, the UK native, revealed his pullout from the bout through an Instagram post. He also stated that he had suffered a torn calf muscle, causing him to step down from the fight.
