For the first time in ONE Championship’s history, a new queen of the atomweights will be crowned, albeit in an interim capacity. Top-ranked contender Stamp Fairtex is set to headline ONE Fight Night 14 on Prime Video on September 1 opposite #2-ranked Ham Seo Hee in a ONE Interim Women’s Atomweight World Championship bout.

Angela Lee, who has held the division’s top prize since its inception, continues to mourn the tragic passing of her sister Victoria, and she is currently undecided about her competitive future. As a result, the promotion sought her blessing to introduce an interim strap.

The Stamp Fairtex vs Ham Seo Hee bout is expected to be an enthraller

When she gave it, Stamp and Ham were the worthy competitors to call upon. Stamp won the ONE Women’s Atomweight World Grand Prix in 2021 and challenged Lee’s reign at ONE X the following year. “Unstoppable” was returning from time off after giving birth, but she proved not to have missed a step by submitting Stamp in the second round.

The former atomweight Muay Thai and kickboxing queen quickly bounced back by outclassing Jihin Radzuan in her next match, however, and she made it two wins from as many fights when she defeated Alyse Anderson at ONE’s debut U.S. show, ONE Fight Night 10, in May.

Ham Seo Hee will also step into the cage with supreme confidence like Stamp Fairtex

Following a controversial debut win against Denice Zamboanga in 2021, the South Korean veteran welcomed a rematch six months later and left no one in doubt the second time, scoring a unanimous decision win over the Filipina standout at ONE X.

“Hamzzang” was last seen on the global stage at ONE Fight Night 8 in March, where she was handed a second unanimous decision win in a row in her battle with Itsuki Hirata.
