One of the most stacked divisions in all of kickboxing will soon test each other to see who is the best of the best on the planet.

The ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Grand Prix is set to begin again soon, featuring some of the world’s greatest strikers in a single tournament.

Last month, ONE Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong hinted that the tournament is scheduled to take place this year, and it appears it is getting closer to fruition as we approach the middle of 2024.

Who are the fighters to watch out for in the upcoming event?

It’s difficult to find a collection of fighters better than ONE’s featherweight kickboxing division.

Standing supreme at the top is ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Champion Chingiz “Chinga” Allazov, who claimed the division’s top prize after winning the second edition of the World Grand Prix.

He will reportedly be part of the upcoming Grand Prix, and could be a rare two-time winner while also being the reigning World Champion of the division.

Interim world titleholder Superbon will also reportedly be in the tournament, and will be placed on the opposite bracket from Allazov.

It opens the possibility of a tournament final pitting the reigning king and the interim champ for the World Grand Prix title and maybe undisputed status in the division.

However, they will both face a gauntlet before they could make it happen. After all, there are killers in the division who will certainly be hungry to prove they are the best.

Giorgio Petrosyan will also be featuring in the latest kickboxing event

Former World Title contender Marat Grigorian pushed both Superbon and Allazov to the limit and will be a dangerous foe for anyone standing in front of him.

Third-ranked contender Sitthichai Sitsongpeenong, who will be competing at ONE 167: Tawanchai vs Nattawut II next month, could also be featured in the tournament together with his upcoming foe, former two-division K-1 World Champion Masaaki Noiri.

Reigning ONE Featherweight Muay Thai World Champion Tawanchai PK Saenchai is currently ranked fourth in the division and could advance his position by taking part in the World Grand Prix.

Of course, a battle of the best is not complete without a living legend like Giorgio Petrosyan in the equation.

The first winner of the prestigious tournament – as well as $1 million that came along with it – recently competed in PetrosyanMania, but remains under contract with ONE Championship.

Making a return in a high-profile tournament certainly fits the bill for Petrosyan, who could further cement his legacy by winning it for a second time.

Details of the tournament could soon be revealed, so stay tuned for further announcements in the coming months.
