Two- Sport ONE Muay Thai World Champion Jonathan Haggerty is all set to appear on September 6 at ONE 168. He will be taking on his longtime rival Superlek Kiatmoo9 in an exciting rematch. The pair previously met in 2018 with the fight ending because of a doctor’s stoppage. However, it now seems that ‘The General’ is up to settle the score once and for all.

Haggerty has achieved one of the rarest of feats after winning titles in two different sports. However, it now seems he is hungrier for more and is eyeing MMA next.

27-year-old Haggerty is definitely at the prime of his career. Despite winning belts in two different sports, the ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Champion is hungry for more. He is now eyeing the MMA as an ultimate test of his skills. However, he is not just thinking about it but is also willing to put in the hard yards.

Haggerty, in his interview with Nik Hobbs and John Dennen of MMA Club , emphasized that he wants to win everything. In order to hone his skills in MMA, Haggerty is now planning to move to Dagestan. The 27-year-old said, “There have been a few talks about Dagestan. Going to Dagestan to train.”

The dominance of Dagestani fighters in the sport of MMA is evident for all to see. Their intense training sessions and disciplined lifestyle make them a machine for the sport. However, Dagestan is not the only option which is available to Haggerty.

While speaking to Hobbs, Haggerty said that he has many more options available and said, “Going to America to train. When it comes down to it, full commitment going to sit down with my team and decide what’s we going to do. There are a lot of gyms out here in Thailand as well. There are a lot of options.”

Currently, the champion is not quite focused on MMA but more on Superlek Kiatmoo9. The pair has been involved in a lot of social media brawls which has already made the fight interesting.

Haggerty on his YouTube channel presented a self-made documentary showcasing his daily routine building up to the clash. During the same video, he shared a message for Superlek predicting his fate for the fight.

Haggerty predicts the outcome of the Superlek fight in the latest video

During his video, Jonathan Haggerty said that he never denies any opportunity to take on a fight. As a result, he took on the fight with Superlek for the first time without thinking much about it. The pair initially met in 2018 but the champion revealed that he was not quite prepared in their first outing.

Since then, Haggerty has won two titles in two different sports and is a much different fighter now. Haggerty believes he is now in his prime and is waiting to take on Superlek. Haggerty said, “He (Superlek) has been calling me out forever, obviously wants to fight at bantamweight. Let’s do it then, give the fans what they’ve been asking for.”

Haggerty was previously ruled out from the fight in 2018 because of a doctor’s stoppage. However this time he is confident of taking the battle to the challenger. Both Haggerty and Superlek are exceptional strikers and it will be interesting to see who comes out on top.
