Luke Lessei is busy preparing for his first bout in the ONE Championship, and he fancies his chances of winning despite facing a formidable opponent. At ONE Fight Night 17: Kryklia vs. Roberts on Friday, December 8, the American striker will face off with Thai veteran “Smokin” Jo Nattawut in a featherweight Muay Thai bout in the penultimate match of the all-striking card.
Taking on a fighter with over 80 bouts to his name in their promotional bow could be intimidating for any fighter, but Lessei remains unfazed by his opponent’s accolades, and he warns him that he’ll have a few tricks up his sleeves when they square off.

“I have this ability to adapt on the fly very quickly, and I know nobody can match my ability to adapt and do things as fast as I can. If you want to elbow, if you want to punch, if you want to kick, if you want to have a defensive battle, I’m good with any of that,” he told ONE in a recent interview. “The advantage that I think I’m going to have is the creativity. The creativity I don’t think is matched with me, and I think that’s going to be the advantage in this fight.”

The #4-ranked contender will be looking to cement his spot in the rankings by scoring an impressive win against Lessei. However, the Florida native promises to utilize his ever-changing style to cause problems for his foe on December 8. “I’m ‘The Chef,’ so I mix it up as much as I can. And I think that’s going to play a huge factor because when you’re getting all this information thrown at you – and this goes for anybody – it’s going to be hard to handle,” he said.
