Undefeated phenom Jonathan Di Bella will soon return to the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium to put his ONE Strawweight Kickboxing World Title on the line. Moreover, it will be against one of Thailand’s most beloved stars.
On Friday, April 5, in the co-main event of ONE Friday Fights 58: Superbon vs. Grigorian II, the Italian-Canadian titleholder will square off with current strawweight Muay Thai kingpin Prajanchai PK Saenchai, live in Asian primetime.
Di Bella is a lifelong martial artist under the tutelage of his World Champion father. He recently admitted that competing at such a historic venue – known as the Mecca of Muay Thai – in a featured bout on a massive card represents a dream come true.

Jonathan Di Bella on fighting in Thailand
In his recent interview, Di Bella discussed in detail about fighting in Thailand. He said – “I’ve been dreaming about fighting in Thailand since I was a kid. I’ve always wanted to fight in Lumpinee. Not many people could even say they fought at Lumpinee or in Thailand in general. So to fight on the biggest events, one of the biggest events of the year, it’s an honor, for sure.”

The Montreal native made his Lumpinee Boxing Stadium debut last October at ONE Fight Night 15. There, he dismantled fan-favorite Danial Williams over the course of five high-paced rounds. Also, he successfully defended his strawweight kickboxing gold.
Di Bella loved performing in front of the Thai fans that night. However, he knows he’s in for an entirely different experience when he battles the local hero Prajanchai.
Di Bella considers Thailand his enemy territory!
With nearly 400 career bouts to his resume, the PK Saenchai representative has established himself as a bona fide superstar, not just in Thailand, but globally.
With that in mind, Di Bella is ready for the Bangkok faithful to show up in a big way to support their man:
“It was a cool crowd I fought in front of last time. I know every time he’ll punch or kick, the crowd’s going to be screaming, and yeah, it’s like I’m in hostile territory. I like it, actually, no pressure.”

Further, he talked about how this extreme atmosphere is going to be fun for him. “I feel like it’s more fun. I like going in their hometown and competing and getting more fans because I like to give an exciting fight, and especially giving an exciting fight with one of their own, with their own countryman.”

Indeed, the 27-year-old is embracing the pressures of competing in enemy territory. In fact, Di Bella says it’s given him extra motivation to retain his 26 pounds of gold at ONE Friday Fights 58: “I know this is his home, so I know it means a lot to him. It makes me even more excited to win.”
