Felipe Lobo knows his back will be against the wall in his World Title tilt this weekend, but he thinks he’s figured out how to overcome his opponent.
This Friday, February 16, the Brazilian knockout artist will challenge two-sport ONE World Champion Jonathan Haggerty for the ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Title in the main event of ONE Fight Night 19 inside the iconic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

“The General” was arguably the most dominant star in ONE Championship last year, so Lobo was sure to do his homework ahead of their heated matchup.
And in an interview with ONE, he shared why he believes he matches up well with the British star.
“He is a very versatile fighter, he moves a lot. He’s a very good fighter. He’s very fast. He’s always changing his base. He has very good timing and very good precision when it comes to landing strikes in a line,” he said.

“He wastes a few strikes. But my style is very similar to his. I also move a lot, and I’m an agile guy. It’s going to be a very interesting fight.”
Haggerty is riding a five-fight win streak in ONE, and he conquered both the bantamweight Muay Thai and kickboxing ranks during his 2023 campaign.

Will Felipe Lobo win against Haggerty on February 16?
“Demolition Man” remains unfazed by his resume, however. He was present to watch his teammate, Fabricio Andrade, take on Haggerty for the vacant kickboxing strap at ONE Fight Night 16 last November. And though his countryman suffered a knockout, Lobo feels he got a better idea of where the defending World Champion’s weaknesses lie.
“In that fight, I noticed that Haggerty was much more active in the fight than Fabricio. Fabricio was doing more defensive work and trying to work on counterattacks, and it ended up not working,” he said.

“I believe I have to do the opposite. I need to accelerate the pace, put pressure on, and be more aggressive. But it will be a very even fight with a lot of striking.”
