As he counts down the days to his biggest match yet in ONE Championship, Tawanchai PK Saenchai is hopeful there will be no more hiccups.
After multiple delays, the Thai superstar is set to defend the ONE Featherweight Muay Thai World Championship against Superbon Singha Mawynn in the main event of ONE Friday Fights 46 this Friday, December 22, inside the iconic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

The pair were initially scheduled to meet at ONE Fight Night 15 in October, but the fight was canceled after Superbon suffered an injury during training. The featherweight Muay Thai king stepped into kickboxing action against the always-dangerous “Smokin” Jo Nattawut at the event instead, and he emerged unscathed with a decision win.
With no injuries, Tawanchai looked for a quick turnaround against his original foe at ONE Fight Night 17 earlier this month. But this time, the PK Saenchai product had to pull out due to illness.
With all issues resolved ahead of their upcoming World Title tussle, however, Tawanchai is confident he’s in good condition to finally make it happen.
“For the first withdrawal, I think he hurt his leg. The second, I got sick. I got infected with the influenza virus. I had to stay in the hospital for several days. I felt like I was having a hard time recovering. Therefore, I felt like I had to postpone this fight,” he said in an interview with ONE.

“But now, I’m all good. After recovering from the sickness, I came back and trained twice as hard.”
The 24-year-old is eager to test his skills against the former pound-for-pound best striker, as he has been just as frustrated as the millions of fans who have had to endure their meeting being canceled twice.
The Thai superstar will look to keep his winning momentum going
Tawanchai has looked unstoppable across his six-fight win streak in ONE Championship. He recognizes the caliber of fighter he will be up against, but it only makes him more excited to get it done both for himself and the fans who will witness their war.

“Fans have been waiting a long time for this fight to happen because it has been postponed twice already, so I’m glad it will finally happen,” he said.
“Superbon talks about me often. So I want to fight him, just as he wants. I think this is the right time for us to crash into each other.
“I don’t know if it is going to be the toughest fight I’ve had or not, but I’m sure it will be a barnburner.”
