Xiong put in a strong display on the feet and answered everything the ONE Atomweight World Champion threw at her on the mats; Friday, September 30.
Despite Lee having looked to control the pace of the 25-minute war, Xiong’s striking dexterity showed beyond doubt why she deserves to be the ONE Strawweight World Champion, and it was enough to earn her the unanimous decision win in the end.
Xiong Jing Nan was unimpressed with her own performance
Despite the win, the Evolve MMA star wasn’t impressed with her performance overall.
“I’m actually not pleased. I was looking for a KO, but I didn’t get it. I could have gotten a finish. But it’s great to fight this new version of Angela. It’s the best way to show that I’ve also reached a new level,” Xiong said.
“I think she executed a great game plan. She has a great team and a great family who can support her with the best techniques in the world. I learned a lot.”
Although many onlookers felt “Unstoppable” had done enough to become the promotion’s first two-division female MMA World Champion, “The Panda” still believes her output was enough to go 2-1 up in their heated rivalry.
“You can see that I raised my hand way before they announced the results. I don’t care if people have a different opinion on whoever won the fight. I am dedicating this fight to the people who love me and support me,” she added.
“If [Angela Lee] doesn’t understand [the decision], that’s her problem. I think that the judges have bright eyes. We can do it two or three more times. I will win all those fights in the future.”

“I’ve been thinking about that for a long time [to challenge Lee for the ONE Atomweight World Title]. This time, she came into my territory, and guess what? Next time, I’m coming to her weight class,” she warned.
