ONE Interim Heavyweight World Champion Anatoly Malykhin is extending his social media presence into Twitter, and his first order of business is reaching out to one of the best boxers on the planet. “Sladkiy” posted a short video on his personal profile, where he can be seen throwing short jabs at his coach John Hutchinson. Malykhin then wraps the trainer up in a bear hug and calls for boxing superstar Tyson Fury to come and join him.

And if the invitation was unclear from the video, the interim heavyweight king left no doubt in the accompanying caption. “Tyson, I know you’re in Phuket, let’s have a sparring match, and I’ll teach you how to defend yourself from freestyle wrestling. Let’s do it,” Malykhin wrote.

Anatoly Malykhin wanted to train Tyson Fury to defend takedowns

Fury is scheduled to be in Thailand this June for a couple of gala dinners with fans, and the Russian juggernaut appears to have marked his visit to the Southeast Asian country on his calendar, judging by his post. 

 

The undefeated boxing World Champion last saw action in December 2022 and has made it clear that he is eager to return to action. Recently, Fury feuded with UFC Heavyweight Champion Jon “Bones” Jones online, with mixed martial artist urging him to step into the MMA world to face him.

While no match is set between the two heavyweights, Malykhin graciously offered to teach Fury how to defend against takedowns if they ever train together.

What will happen in the coveted Anatoly Malykhin vs Arjan Bhullar bout?

The Kemerovo native will be busy in the upcoming weeks, however, as he’s set to face reigning divisional king Arjan Bhullar to unite the ONE Heavyweight World Titles in the main event of ONE Friday Fights 22 on June 23rd. The pair have been scheduled to compete against each other on at least two occasions, with all bookings falling through for various reasons.

The delay has only increased the animosity between the two World Champions, and their inevitable clash is expected to produce glorious fireworks when they battle for the right to be crowned the undisputed ONE Heavyweight World Champion in a few short weeks.
