Jeremy Miado is out to prove, without a doubt, that he’s better than his Filipino compatriot by taking a decisive win in their rematch. On Friday, November 3, “The Jaguar” will have a chance to run it back with Lito Adiwang when they collide in a strawweight MMA battle at ONE Fight Night 16: Haggerty vs. Andrade inside the iconic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand. 

The pair faced each other at ONE X in March last year in what promised to be an explosive battle of finishers. Unfortunately, that match came to an abrupt end when “Thunder Kid” took a misstep and tore his ACL in the middle of their fight, leading Miado to take advantage and score the TKO victory.

Ahead of their rematch, Miado offered his thoughts on how he’ll approach his second meeting with Adiwang. “Of course, my counters and my reach are still some of my best weapons, but we will also adjust accordingly as the fight goes on. I really don’t know what Lito’s game plan will be, but I assure you that I’ll be adjusting to whatever Lito wants to do,” he said.  

“In the first fight, I was really timing that opening each time he came in. That’s one thing that I’m working on – finding those openings and connecting on those shots”. Both fighters have electrified the ONE crowd with their exciting finishes over the years. They have a combined 12 finishes in the world’s largest martial arts organization, so fans are expecting a quick fight on November 3.

Miado and Adiwang are known for their knockouts, but the latter has also shown proficiency on the ground and has a submission win over Pongsiri Mitsatit to his name. As such, it wouldn’t be a surprise for “The Jaguar” to face some adversity if his countryman decides to wrestle his way to a win.

However, Miado is confident he has what it takes to take on Adiwang in grappling, and he believes he can pair his skills with his reach advantage to take a less controversial victory when they meet this time around. “I’m ready for him wherever the fight goes. If he wants to strike against me, then I’ll be ready. If he wants to take it to the ground, then I’ll have answers for him, too,” he said.

“As I’ve said, my range will be my biggest weapon in this fight, and I can say that I hold an edge over him in the grappling department. I believe those are my advantages. The only advantage that he has over me is his power, the power in his hands and his kicks.”
