“The Queen” Phetjeeja Lukjaoporongtom wants to be a shining example for women when she takes the ring on International Women’s Day.

On Friday, March 8, the Thai star is set to take on Janet “JT” Todd in a ONE Atomweight Kickboxing World Title unification bout at ONE Fight Night 20: Todd vs Phetjeeja inside the historic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

“The Queen” graced the ring this past weekend at ONE Fight Night 19 and shared her thoughts on headlining her first ONE card. “There will be a lot of female fighters there. I want to show everybody that the female fighters are just as good as the male fighters, that we are as strong as the male fighters,” she said.

“I would like to inspire all females around the world on International Women’s Day. I want to inspire them to have confidence. We can believe in ourselves, and we can do anything that we want to do.”

Phetjeeja has won five straight bouts since joining the world’s largest martial arts organization last year. In her latest outing, she took out striking legend Anissa “C18” Meksen to claim the ONE Interim Atomweight Kickboxing World Championship at ONE Friday Fights 46 this past December. She will figure in just her second kickboxing bout in the promotion when she takes on Todd, which won’t be an easy feat.

Prior to her failed attempt at unifying the division’s Muay Thai belts, “JT” has won seven straight bouts, including all three of her kickboxing matches. Her latest win in the sport came at the expense of another Thai great in Stamp Fairtex, which won her the coveted strap.

Phetjeeja knows just how tough her next opponent is, and she is looking forward to continuing her brilliant run and bringing home gold to her compatriots. “On that day, I will be fighting Janet Todd. I know that she’s a very strong opponent, but I’m determined. I will do my best to unify the belts and have the [undisputed] belt with me,” said Phetjeeja.

She continued, “Since I started fighting here in ONE Championship, I’ve been having great performances. I want to show everyone here, on the Lumpinee stage, and unify the belts and bring the belt back home with me.”
