Edgar Tabares neglected his thoughts and accepted the fight against Rodtang Jitmuangnon
Speaking to ONE, the 29-year-old said, “I didn’t realize that I had to fight Rodtang. I just read the message that said, ‘Would you like to fight in ONE?’ But when I read my opponent, I said no. I have to say my first thought was no. But my wife told me, ‘Hey, this is your opportunity. You have to take it. Maybe they won’t call you anymore’.”
“Now, I want to win. This is my goal. I know that this is something extreme, but this is my goal. And yeah, it’s a good responsibility. But I don’t know what happened at this moment. But the only thing that I know is I’m going to enjoy it a lot.”

Tabares said, “I would have liked to have some fights before that. But what the hell? Here in Mexico we say, ‘tomar el toro por los cuernos’. It means ‘taking the bull by the horns.’ I know Rodtang is a beast, but I want to dominate that beast.”
