In Meksen, Phetjeeja will be facing a fighter who has won seven World Titles in various promotions across the globe. As such She has had plenty of game tape to study, which has allowed her to go deep in analyzing her foe.

“What I’ve learned from watching and studying [Meksen’s] videos is that she is good at almost everything. She can attack whether she moves forward or backward. She has good punches and kicks. She also has good hooks and combinations. And she is really strong.

She also has quick footwork to step in and out,” Phetjeeja shared with ONE in a recent interview.

“I have to watch for her punches and kicks. Her low kick is really fast. But not as dangerous as her fists.”

In her stint in the world’s largest martial arts organization so far, “The Queen” has dominated anyone who has stood across from her and scored finishes in all four matches.

But Phetjeeja has only competed in Muay Thai in ONE, and her fight on Friday will be under kickboxing rules. This means a couple of her key weapons will be taken away.

Phetjeeja is unfazed by the challenge ahead of her

However, the young striking star remains unfazed by this, as she has confidence in her skill and preparation.

“Meksen might be very fast, a tough fighter to fight with, but we are trying to find a way to deal with that. My training has been focused on increasing my speed. I don’t think I’m slower than her in terms of speed because I used to be a boxer,” Phetjeeja said.

“My plan is that I will never back down. I will try to get close to her and give her some low kicks and combine that with punching and high kicks.

I believe in my fighting spirit and training. If she is strong, all I need to do is work harder to get stronger than her. And I want to beat her badly.
