Cristina Morales is heading for the biggest fight of her ONE Championship career this weekend, and she hopes her performance serves as a beacon of light for women around the world. On International Women’s Day, this Friday, March 8, the Spanish striker will challenge Allycia Hellen Rodrigues.

All of it so she can have a shot at the ONE Atomweight Muay Thai World Championship in the co-main event of ONE Fight Night 20: Todd vs. Phetjeeja inside the iconic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

A co-main larger-than-life for Cristina Morales

Competing in such a prominent spot on the all-female card gives Morales a chance to shine on the grand stage of the world’s largest martial arts organization, and she wants to make the most out of it to inspire women to push for their goals.

“I do not agree with people who believe women are not strong. We are very strong. When I fight, I feel strong. When I fight, I feel anything is possible,” she said. “To all women out there, I want to ask you to fight for your dreams. If you do it, it will come true.”

“To all the mothers out there, don’t give up on your dreams or your goals because of motherhood. It will make your bond with your family stronger.”

Morales was last seen in action at ONE Fight Night 16 in November, where she knocked out the always dangerous Anna “Supergirl” Jaroonsak in the first round of their atomweight kickboxing clash. She will look to use that momentum this weekend when she takes on the division’s undisputed Muay Thai queen.

Morales is a mother at heart

Apart from inspiring women around the globe, Morales also wants to set an example for her two sons and show them that anyone can accomplish great things with the right mindset. “I am proud to be a role model to my kids. I like to show them that I can work and compete in the sport I love,” she said.
