English striking star Liam ?Hitman? Harrison was among the millions who tuned in to watch a new ONE World Champion crowned, and he knew immediately that it wasn?t going to go the distance.?In the main event of ONE Fight Night 16 earlier this month, Haggerty reigned supreme.
Jonathan Haggerty claimed the vacant ONE Bantamweight Kickboxing World Championship by knocking out Fabricio Andrade to make history inside the iconic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand. Some people had already written down this prediction. And Harrison was one of them.
Liam Harrison always knew Andrade’s weakness?

While fans may have expected to see a more tightly-contested battle between the two fierce strikers, Harrison said he saw early on that it was going to be a quick match in favor of ‘The General’. He saw the fault in Andrade’s movement and called it. His observation was rather keen, too.
?I put it on for the first 30 seconds and when Haggerty started moving around, it became massively apparent how bad Andrade?s footwork was and I just knew straight away that he wasn?t going to be able to live with Haggerty,? he told ONE in an interview after the event.?
?Just go back and watch their feet. Haggerty?s got really good footwork, he bounces in and out and puts himself in good positions and gets himself out of danger and stuff. And with Andrade, it was like watching a novice. I know nothing about MMA footwork but he was following Haggerty around the ring, crossing his feet and he couldn?t get anything off to counter. So, literally the first 20 seconds I noticed how bad it was and I knew he wouldn?t last and it wouldn?t be competitive, and it wasn?t, that?s what happened.?
?Wonder Boy? is one of the most feared strikers in the bantamweight MMA division that he rules, owing to his extensive experience in Muay Thai and kickboxing prior to joining the world?s largest martial arts organization.?He came into his first kickboxing match in the promotion with a ton of confidence, especially considering his background. Unfortunately, he couldn?t unleash his usual dominant self in his return to kickboxing.?

Harrison detailed where Andrade fell short
Harrison couldn?t fault the Brazilian for his confidence, but he believes that training in the all-encompassing sport of MMA during the past four years may have, at least, developed some negative habits in kickboxing.? ?Obviously he?s been doing MMA, the footwork is totally different. I know after doing that constantly for four years constantly you?re going to change, but you can?t have bad footwork against someone like Haggerty,? said ?Hitman.??

?I think Andrade was struggling to counter back with anything of note because his feet were all over the place. It was hard for him to get anything off. Obviously he was a good kickboxer but that was a long time ago. Going that long, you have to go back to basics sometimes. You can?t just jump into a fight with one of the best kickboxers on the planet and expect to have success,? he concluded.??
