ONE Featherweight Muay Thai World Champion Tawanchai PK.Saenchai is ready to showcase his evolution as a fighter when he defends his gold for the first time in the co-main event of ONE Fight Night 7: Lineker vs. Andrade II on Prime Video. The Thai athlete is confident of his chances against Jamal Yusupov at his old battlefield, the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, and he wants to ensure everything goes according to plan. 

Besides sharpening his weapons in “the art of eight limbs,” the divisional king has incorporated a couple of other tactics during his training camp to ensure he stands a better chance at victory this Friday, February 24.

Tawanchai maintained a strict routine to be better physically

Speaking at ONE Media Day, he said, “For this fight, I have been focusing on my strength. So, of course, sports science is applied, and also I do weight training. My diet has been really good. So there’s nothing to worry about.” As a testament to his intense camp over the past couple of months, Tawanchai admits he’s in the best shape of his career–both mentally and physically.

He added, “I feel like, right now, I am more physically fit. I am stronger; my strength has increased. And also, the training period for this fight is much longer. And I did a lot of training. My physique and mentality are much better than the last fight.”

Because of this, he’s feeling positive he will leave the Thai capital city with a fifth win on the global stage.

Tawanchai was aware of his rivals’ strengths and had prepared to answer them

However, Tawanchai rather not enter this bout with his nose held up high. Yusupov, after all, is a proven warrior. And his lengthy career, which features huge victories over elite strikers, hasn’t gone unnoticed by the ONE Featherweight Muay Thai World Champion.

Tawanchai stated, “The strengths of Jamal are he’s a heavy hitter, and his footwork is excellent. I have already prepared to take care of this, and let’s see it in the ring. I will never underestimate my opponent, so I have prepared myself well.

It’s understandable that numerous ONE Championship viewers would be awaiting ONE Fight Night 7 to find the outcome of the Tawanchai vs Yusupov bout.
