Undefeated Filipino star Carlo ‘The Bull’ Bumina-ang is now just a few short days away from his much-anticipated U.S. primetime debut. The Lakey Central Gym athlete is on a six-fight winning streak, however, his next fight is a bit important to him.
This Friday, August 2, at ONE Fight Night 24: Brooks vs. Balart on Prime Video, the 30-year-old powerhouse will square off with #5-ranked bantamweight MMA contender Enkh-Orgil ‘The Tormentor’ Baatarkhuu in the biggest opportunity of Bumina-ang’s six-fight professional career.

An incredibly hard worker who is still evolving as a mixed martial artist, ‘The Bull’ credits much of his meteoric rise to his training at the world-renowned Team Lakay in Baguio, The Philippines.

He explained: “I’m very observant. I watch my coach and my teammates. I listen and I learn from them. I make every training session count because they gave me a chance to be this team’s representative, and in return, I’m making sure to be at my best in every training session. That mindset got me here.”
Bumina-ang’s Journey with Team Lakay
While he’s certainly put in the work to get to where he is today, Bumina-ang remains eternally grateful for what Team Lakay has given him – the training and instruction needed to compete alongside the planet’s best martial artists.

He says that without Team Lakay, his life would have gone down a drastically different path, and he definitely wouldn’t have been competing under ONE’s bright lights. ‘The Bull’ added: “I’m grateful because right now I get to do what I love. There’s fulfillment now on my end. Looking back five years ago, if I didn’t take the risk and bet on myself, I would probably still be carrying bananas and selling them in the market.”
He further added, “Compared to my situation back then, I’m in a place where I’m happy with what I’m doing, and my life is also improving at the same time. For that, I’ll always be grateful.”
