The longtime ONE Lightweight Kickboxing World Champion will put his six-year unbeaten run on the line against surging Thai contender Sinsamut Klinmee in the evening’s co-main event.
Regian Eersel can join an elite group with a win
A victory would see him join a rare group of fighters who have claimed double gold inside the Circle.
The prospect of such an illustrious achievement has turned the Surinamese-Dutch star’s motivation up to a new level, and he’s ready to do it for his homeland and everyone that has helped him get to where he is.
“I feel like I am writing history if I also win the Muay Thai World Title. It will be so important for my country Suriname, for the people, and for my team,” Eersel said.
“This is history-making, and if I am the first one to make this happen, then this is for the history books.”
It would undeniably be a special occasion for “The Immortal” to leave Kuala Lumpur with another emphatic win.
He has been unstoppable inside the Circle since making his debut in 2018, and his 7-0 record includes wins over some of the toughest strikers that ONE has to offer.
Ersel feels no pressure ahead of the huge title fight
Such an impressive streak could lead a fighter to feel the pressure as another bout approaches, but Eersel remains level-headed as he makes the final preparations to compete for the inaugural crown.
“No, I don’t feel pressure. Just because I have been able to do it for the last six years. And yeah, it motivates me a little bit. Yeah, I’m undefeated for six years. Not many fighters are undefeated in six years, so yeah, but I’m not thinking about that when I go inside the Circle. I’m just thinking that I have to win. I have to beat the guy in front of me,” the 29-year-old said.
Regian Eersel has a difficult task in front of him this Friday, however. His opponent, Sinsamut, is a proven Muay Thai force inside the Circle.

The Thai star has scored knockouts in both of his ONE outings, taking out striking superstars Nieky “The Natural” Holzken and Liam Nolan, and he is the first fighter in the promotion to score back-to-back performance bonuses.
Nonetheless, Eersel remains unfazed. He is laser-focused on how he can work his game plan to perfection in order to claim double-champ status and cement his name among the best in the game.

“I want to build my name, my legacy. My name is ‘The Immortal,’ so I have to show them what the name means. The only way I can build my legacy is by having good fights and good wins against the best guys,” he said.
“I’m building all of that, and that’s in my mind when I go into the Circle. This is the buildup, and this guy wants to destroy everything that I have built. And I am not going to let that happen.”
