Moraes will put his gold on the line against Johnson in the main event of ONE on Prime Video 1: Moraes vs. Johnson II, which will air in U.S. prime-time on August 26. The American Top Team/Constrictor Team standout recognized his upcoming opponent’s skill set, but he’ll be looking to hand “Mighty Mouse” another first when they square off again inside the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
“Demetrious Johnson is a very smart guy, very tough, and I know he’s coming in very hungry for this rematch,” Moraes said. “I’m training a lot. I want to show my evolution as an athlete, so I believe I can get a submission in the fourth round.”
Tapping out a fighter as decorated as “Mighty Mouse” will be no easy task. Johnson is a grappling expert who has scored a plethora of wins on the canvas, and he’s never gone down to a submission loss. Nonetheless, the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt has prepared himself thoroughly in his quest to prove himself against one of the best in combat sports.

Also on Moraes’ mind is the historic partnership of ONE with Prime Video. The significance of being on the first card to be broadcast on the streaming giant is not lost on the flyweight king.
“I believe this partnership between ONE and Prime Video will be fantastic for MMA fans and everyone who loves martial arts. And for me, it will be an honor to [compete in] the main event on the first Prime Video broadcast. I am very grateful once again,” Moraes said.

Although born and raised in Brasilia, Brazil, “Mikinho” has called the United States his home for the majority of his professional career. He trains with a group of elite warriors at the American Top Team in Coconut Creek, Florida, who have helped him evolve into one of the best martial artists on the ONE roster.
Determined to cement his legacy in his upcoming fight, Moraes believes another win over Johnson will help him become a household name in his adopted homeland. “I have been an ATT athlete for seven years. I have lived in the United States for seven years. It is already my second home. They welcomed me very well here, and I have a lot of fans here in America,” he said.
