Aung La N Sang is currently riding high on a three-fight winning streak and is aiming to make it four at ONE 168: Denver on U.S. primetime on Friday, September 6. ‘The Burmese Python’ will take on Shamil Erdogan in a fascinating middleweight clash. Malykhin referred to Aung La as his ‘brother’ and clarified that he doesn’t want to face him to defend his belt. The 39-year-old also agrees with the idea but feels the final call lies with the promotion. During a recent chat with South China Morning Post, he shared an honest opinion about the possible clash in the future. He said, “Let’s be like honest right? I’m in the middleweight division, and my goal is to be the champion one day, right? And like, of course, you don’t wanna fight your friend, right? But, like, I don’t know right now, but if the promotion needs a fight that needs to happen, you know it will happen.”
