Two-division kingpin Jonathan “The General” Haggerty thinks he could make quick work of Felipe “Demolition Man” Lobo when the two clash in the main event of ONE Fight Night 19 on Prime Video.
The Brit is set to defend his ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Title against the Brazilian this Friday, February 16 in U.S. primetime from the iconic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

A high-volume striker who does his best work pressuring his opponents with lengthy combinations, Haggerty believes that Lobo’s slower, more methodical approach will be his undoing.
The 26-year-old titleholder said, “I feel like Felipe starts very slow, and he’s got a very Thai boxing style, but you can’t relax like that against me. If you put it on him, he doesn’t like it, and he’s going to crumble. I bring that style where I’m going to put it on you until the bell goes, so I’m just wondering how he’s going to cope with my pressure and my strikes.”
“The General” recognizes that his foe deserves some amount of respect for his unforgettable come-from-behind victory over Thai star Saemapetch Fairtex in his last outing. While Haggerty says Lobo showed an incredible amount of grit in that fight, that won’t be enough to save him when the two meet on February 16:
“He did great against Saemapetch. He came back from a knockdown and showed great heart and great determination, so this will be a great fight. But he won’t be getting back up after I hit him. That’s the difference.”
The Knowlesy Academy representative comes into this bout – the first defense of his bantamweight Muay Thai gold – following back-to-back knockout victories. His most recent win was a spectacular and dominant performance against Lobo’s Tiger Muay Thai training partner Fabricio “Wonder Boy” Andrade, earning him the vacant ONE Bantamweight Kickboxing World Title.

Now brimming with confidence, “The General” sees no reason why he can’t score another quick stoppage at ONE Fight Night 19.

Haggerty added, “I’m going to come out of the blocks explosive, find the shots early in round one, and hopefully find what I’m looking for to get the job done. I always prepare for a five-round fight, but if you can get it done in round one or round two, then why not?”
“And I feel like I’m in his head. I’m 1-0 up against his training partner. I heard that Andrade gets the better of him in sparring. I’m not too sure how true that is, but if it is then, well, we’re going for round one!”
