Jonathan “The General” Haggerty believes Fabricio “Wonder Boy” Andrade will be out of his element in their much-anticipated main event clash at ONE Fight Night 16 on Prime Video. This Friday, November 3, the pair will throw down in an epic champion-versus-champion showdown for the vacant ONE Bantamweight Kickboxing World Title, live in U.S. primetime from the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok.

As the reigning ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Champion and one of the planet’s top pound-for-pound strikers, Haggerty is confident he’ll have the technical edge over Andrade, who currently holds the bantamweight MMA crown.

Despite “Wonder Boy’s” 43-fight professional record in Muay Thai and kickboxing, the Brit sees him as an MMA fighter – and not a striker. Haggerty said, “I don’t care about his kickboxing record. All I know is he’s been doing this [MMA] for the last five years. So when we get in the middle of the ring, he can’t take me down. He’s going to come unstuck. We’ll just have to see on November 3rd.”

According to “The General,” Andrade’s time competing in the all-around sport of MMA – even at the absolute highest level – won’t serve him well in their battle for kickboxing gold. He explained why he thinks the Brazilian simply isn’t prepared for a striker of his caliber, “There’s a lot of gaps that we see in his game. I’m not sure because he’s fighting different people that were going to try and take him down. So he has to change his stance sort of.”

“He’s not used to me and he’s going to get in there and he’s going to feel my style. And so I hit him and then he’s going to think, Oh, no, I’m actually here to stand up for the whole five rounds. So he’s going to be in trouble.”

Loaded with confidence, Haggerty envisions a short night of work on Friday. Just like his World Title-winning performance in April against Nong-O Hama, “The General” believes he can score a first-round knockout against Andrade.

He added, “I’m looking for another one-round knockout. I’ll be perfect, but I’m not I’m not going to hold myself to it. I’m going to take my time. I know how tough he can be. But if [the opportunity] comes, I’m going to take it and I’m going to take him out.”
