The best form of defense is a good attack, and that’s the strategy Superlek “The Kicking Machine” Kiatmoo9 hopes to implement when he faces Rodtang “The Iron Man” Jitmuangnon in their champion versus champion clash next week. The ONE Flyweight Kickboxing World Champion puts his gold on the line against the longtime flyweight Muay Thai king in the co-main event of ONE Fight Night 8 on Friday, March 24.

This bout against the most dominant athlete in ONE’s striking divisions will mark Superlek’s first World Title defense since winning the coveted divisional crown in a five-round war against Daniel Puertas this past January.
Superlek Kiatmoo9 isn’t scared even of his highly touted opponent Rodtang Jitmuangnon
And he’s feeling rather confident of his chances despite the tough assignment. “The Kicking Machine” said, “Maybe this time he will come to me with less aggression. He is likely to be more careful. He may have plotted to prevent me from throwing my weapons. But I can guarantee no matter what style he uses on me, he’ll never scare me.”
Superlek hasn’t dropped a match since his defeat to Ilias Ennahachi in February 2021. Since then, he has racked up four wins on the trot, including a 95-second knockout of Walter Goncalves at ONE on Prime Video 1. The Kiatmoo9 representative is considered one of the top pound-for-pound strikers in the world. But his rival, Rodtang, is cut from the same cloth.
The Thai megastar has amassed an 11-0 striking slate inside the Circle and has barely been troubled in his ONE tenure.

Superlek Kiatmoo9 knew about the perks he had over his opponent
Many see “The Iron Man” as invincible, but Superlek has a differing opinion. The 27-year-old star has watched all of Rodtang’s fights in preparation for his upcoming battle, and he believes he’s identified plenty of flaws within his rival’s game.
He stated, “I believe my kicks are better than his in kickboxing. First, I’m a little taller than him. Second, I think my leg movement is better than his in terms of speed.”

“Every fighter has their own way of stepping. And I see Rodtang step clearly, like how he will punch and follow with a kick. So, I can predict his patterns clearly. Rodtang may hit hard, but he is slower than me. This should be my advantage.”
