Liam Harrison has been clamoring for a fight between two of the best Thai fighters in the world today, and he will finally get to see it go down in a few short weeks.

ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Champion Rodtang Jitmuangnon is set to defend his belt against top divisional contender and kickboxing king Superlek Kiatmoo9 at ONE Friday Fights 34 on September 22.

Liam Harrison Picks Superlek To Beat Rodtang Jitmuangnon

“Hitman” has wanted to see the pair mix it up for some time, as he believes it only makes sense for them to challenge each other for their respective belts. In an interview with ONE Championship, the British star expressed his excitement that this dream match has become a reality. “It’s on now, and I’m looking forward to it,” Harrison said. “I am really looking forward to it. I think it’s going to be a great fight.” Both men have been on a tear in the world’s largest martial arts organization and are currently at the top of their games.

Rodtang has reigned in the flyweight Muay Thai ranks since 2019, and he remains unbeaten in ONE’s striking-only ranks. “The Iron Man” has a combined record of 14-0 there, and he took out Chinese star Jiduo Yibu earlier this year to claim the top contender spot in the flyweight kickboxing division. For his part, Superlek claimed and defended the ONE Flyweight Kickboxing World Title earlier this year and then proceeded to cement his top-ranked position in Muay Thai by dominating his last two opponents.

“The Kicking Machine” is riding a seven-fight winning streak, and he will be hunting for a second World Title against Rodtang at ONE Friday Fights 34.  Harrison loves to watch a good fight, and this matchup is as good as it gets. When pressed to offer his prediction on who he thinks will win, the British striker didn’t hesitate to make his pick. “I think Superlek is going to beat him. I think he’s a little sharper in every department, and he’ll have an answer for everything,” he said.

Superlek Kiatm009 has been on a finishing spree

Superlek’s last three fights haven’t reached the judges’ scorecards, which plays into Harrison’s prediction. However, there is a reason why Rodtang is called “The Iron Man.”

The 26-year-old has gone the distance in most of his fights in ONE, eating strikes like it was nothing and dishing out punishment that broke every one of his opponents’ will.

Who will take the win in this super-fight remains to be seen, but fans can be sure they will get a barnburner when Superlek and Rodtang meet.
