Marcus “Buchecha” Almeida cannot wait for ONE Fight Night 10: Johnson vs. Moraes III to take off inside 1stBank Center in Denver, Colorado, this Friday, May 5. Of course, his focus will be on the main event showdown, in which he’ll be supporting his friend, training partner, and former ONE Flyweight World Champion Adriano “Mikinho” Moraes in his trilogy tussle for the divisional crown with reigning king Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson.

But the heavyweight star will also have his eyes on the co-main event between ONE Flyweight Submission Grappling World Champion Mikey “Darth Rigatoni” Musumeci and Osamah Almarwai.
Buchecha lauded Mikey Musumeci’s fast-paced jiu-jitsu predicting a victory for him
Across three dominant victories inside the Circle, Musumeci has looked practically unbeatable. However, Almarwai, who became the first-ever competitor from the Middle East to win an IBJJF Black Belt World Title last year, could provide the pasta-loving World Champion with his toughest test yet.
Nonetheless, “Buchecha” believes Musumeci has enough in his arsenal to retain the 26 pounds of gold at ONE’s on-ground debut show in North America. The heavyweight star said, “For sure, fighting against the champ like Mikey will be a really tough job for [Almarwai] because Mikey is something special for sure. The kid, he sees jiu-jitsu in a different way.”
“He thinks so fast. He makes decisions really fast in a fight, and that is something amazing to watch, so I think it’s going to be a great fight. But I think Mikey’s going to keep the belt”.

Marcus Buchecha Almeida predicted a change in Mikey Musumeci’s game for Osamah Almarwai
Through hours of daily training, experimenting, and analyzing, he has reinforced his skill set with unique techniques and tactics – particularly in the leg lock field. His trademark leg-cranking hold, a modified heel hook now known as “The Mikey Lock,” is a perfect example of the American’s grappling talent.
But although he is famous for his submission-hunting style and ability to innovate new tactics on the go, Almeida feels Almarwai’s stubbornness on the canvas could force Musumeci to display a rarely seen guard passing game at ONE Fight Night 10.

He added, “Being honest, his [Musumeci’s] passing game is really good. He has really good techniques passing. We don’t see him much on top, but once he gets on top, for sure, we’re going to see a lot of pressure, and I think because of that, he wants to test himself. So, we’re going to see a lot of top game for sure.”
