ONE Interim Heavyweight World Champion Anatoly Malykhin is motivated to stamp his rivalry with divisional king Arjan Bhullar with an exclamation point. On Friday, June 23, the pair will finally meet to unify that heavyweight crowns inside the iconic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, at ONE Friday Fights 22, and the Russian powerhouse believes “Singh” hasn’t a hope in the world.

Malykhin’s confidence comes from the trail of destruction he has amassed since joining ONE in 2021. Thus far, only one of his four outings has gone beyond the first round, with him claiming the finish in the second frame on that occasion.

Anatoly Malykhin also had a prediction for his showdown against Arjan Bhullar

All the others have ended in devastating first-round knockouts, and he is certain Bhullar will be added to that list on Friday. “He has no chance at all. I’ll just knock him out. He’ll last until the second round at the most. There is no chance for him to last for five rounds,” Malykhin said in an interview with ONE Championship.

“I always aim for a knockout. I always try to be faster than my opponents and give a good show. I have to give it my all so that the audience enjoys those moments.”

“Sladkiy” has tormented Bhullar on social media and in interviews ever since the Indian-Canadian won the ONE Heavyweight World Title from longtime king Brandon Vera in 2021. Malykhin claims that his upcoming foe is afraid to fight him, and that has been his chosen barb since winning the interim World Title in February 2022.

The pair were scheduled to meet to unify the belts on numerous occasions over the last 16 months, but various complications forced the showdown to be delayed.

Anatoky Malykhin intended to provide the audience with what they wanted

But with those issues seemingly resolved, both men are now highly motivated to prove who the real king of the division is. Bhullar has expressed his desire to silence the two-division king and move on from this lengthy rivalry, while Malykhin hopes to get a chance to back up his talk and give everyone what they have been waiting at ONE Friday Fights 22.

“My fight with Bhullar is worth watching simply because I will be knocking him out. Everyone loves knockouts. When big boys fall down – beautiful.”
