Fresh off his victory over #2-ranked flyweight Muay Thai contender Denis Puric in a non-title kickboxing bout at ONE 167 earlier this month, Rodtang Jitmuangnon shows no signs of slowing down. His hard-earned victory appears to have rejuvenated the Thai star to continue working and re-establish his dominance in ONE.

Although there’s been no official announcement, rumors are swirling about a potential fight between current ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Champion Rodtang Jitmuangnon and Takeru Segawa. This matchup was originally planned for ONE 165 in Tokyo back in January 2024, but Rodtang was forced to withdraw because of an injury. And Superlek Kiatmoo9 stepped in to take his place.

In a surprising social media reel on Instagram, Rodtang Jitmuangnon excited fans with a video of his training with Muay Thai and kickboxing legend Buakaw Banchamek. This comes after Buakaw was recently reported to be training with Suablack for his fight against Russian powerhouse Kiamran Nabati.

In the video, Buakaw and Rodtang flash bright smiles as the former tests just how tough “The Iron Man” can be while holding pads against his powerful kicks. The video caption reads, ” Just came to visit and got put to work,” adding a humorous touch to the scene.

The post generated a buzz among fans and fellow ONE Championship fighters, including Superbon and Johan Ghazali as they reacted in their unique ways.

Fans react as Buakaw showed off power and Rodtang Jitmuangnon took every blow on the pads

After seeing Rodtang’s fine form in his last outing earlier this month, one fan questioned the outcome of his fight against Superlek Kiatmoo9 at ONE Friday Fights 34 in September 2023, where Rodtang suffered his first loss in striking competitions in ONE. The fan commented, “I don’t understand how [Rodtang] lost to [Superlek] bro, it was an amazing brutal fight yes but bruv.” Meanwhile, another fan, struck by the clear facial expressions of Buakaw and Rodtang in the training video, commented, “Why these people so funny and scary at the same time?”

Fans weren’t the only ones impressed with Rodtang’s training. Rising ONE flyweight Muay Thai star, Johan “Jojo” Ghazali, also showed his excitement using fire emojis “🔥🔥🔥”. Even Superbon, one of Buakaw’s most notable students, joined the conversation, leaving a string of heart-eye emojis, “😍😍😍.” One fan paid homage to both legends by simply commenting, “RESPECT FOR BUAKAW AND RODTANG.

Meanwhile, one fan expressed their wish for another Muay Thai legend in Saenchai to join the duo, saying, “Legends. Would’ve been even better if @saenchaithailand jumped in with a flying knee.” Another fan declared the scene “This is God Muay Thai,” obviously in awe at the level of talent doing work together.

While these comments generate excitement, the main question remains unanswered: when will Rodtang Jitmuangnon return to the ring, and who will his next opponent be? There’s no official announcement yet, but we’ll keep you updated. Stay tuned!
