Three-time Muay Thai World Champion, currently ranked #5 in the ONE Championship Bantamweight Muay Thai division, Liam Harrison, also known as ‘Hitman’, is set to return to the circle. He’ll face Japan’s Katsuki Kitano in a highly anticipated Bantamweight Muay Thai fight at ONE 167: Tawanchai vs. Nattawut 2 on Prime Video, happening this Friday, June 7th.
Since his last defeat to Nong-O-Hama at ONE on Prime Video 1 in 2022, which left him with a knee injury, Harrison hasn’t featured in a ONE bout. Just days before his fight, Liam sat down for an interview with EssentiallySports where he shared his upcoming plans, revealed his thoughts on retirement, and discussed his post-retirement, including his friendship with WWE stars and their influence on his life.

It’s common to have friends from other colleges and departments, and that’s the case for ONE Championship Muay Thai contender Liam Harrison, who also has friends in other fighting organizations. Harrison revealed his plans in a recent exclusive interview with EssentiallySports hosted by Raj Sarkar. When asked if a career in wrestling or the WWE interested him after retirement, Harrison did not seem excited and he had a valid reason behind the same.
The 38-year-old revealed, “You know what, I’ve always said I’d love to have done something like that, but unfortunately, I don’t think my body could handle the kind of training they put it through. I’ve got a couple of very close friends who are in WWE.” The professional even used to hang out and train with them a bit. However, he thinks that the training in WWE is incredibly demanding. “I’ve been to their gym and had a little bounce around in their rings and stuff like that. I don’t think my body could take what they actually do them themselves,” Harrison concluded.

There’s no doubt Liam Harrison will face challenges entering professional wrestling. At 38, nearing retirement age for Muay Thai, transitioning to the demanding physicality of wrestling in his 40s would be a tough feat. This is especially true considering the grueling training required to achieve the physique of wrestlers like Goldberg, a legend Harrison considers a close friend. Recently, ‘Hitman’ shared a unique experience he had with Goldberg.

Speaking to EssentiallySports, Harrison revealed this unique connection and shared details about their encounters.
“So, I fought in America in 2015, against Tycoon Malipe, and I beat him quite convincingly. Goldberg was ringsidee. He jumped in the ring,” claimed Harrison.
