Will the Muay Thai fighters steal the spotlight at ONE Fight Night 24?

With just a week to go before ONE Fight Night 24: Brooks vs. Balart takes over Bangkok, Thailand’s Lumpinee Stadium, four Muay Thai battles have been announced to bolster the lineup.

The thrilling event is set to go down in the Thai capital on Friday, August 2, with two World Title bouts topping the bill. However, the latest additions are guaranteed to keep the action dialed up en route to the main events, and striking fans are sure to be pleased.

First of the four will be 21-year-old Aliff Sor Dechapan taking on Morocco’s Zakaira El Jamari in a catchweight affair.

Aliff showed glimpses of greatness by winning four of his five bouts in the ONE Friday Fights series. Unfortunately, he has struggled to find his winning form over his last two bouts, including in his U.S. primetime debut at ONE Fight Night 23 earlier this month. He’ll be looking to bounce back against El Jamari.

The Moroccan scrapper lost out to undefeated Russian striker Ali Saldoev in his promotional debut at ONE 166 this past March, but rebounded in a big way in his latest outing against Thongpoon PK Saenchai at ONE Fight Night 22 in May. He’ll want to add a big name to his list of conquered foes against Aliff on August 2.

Dedduanglek TDed99 vs. Nakrob Fairtex

In the flyweight Muay Thai division, Dedduanglek TDed99 will seek redemption when meets Nakrob Fairtex in a rematch of their meeting at ONE Friday Fights 41 last November. That evening, Nakrob scored a third-round knockout win to kickstart his current four-fight win streak.

Have an interesting take?

The loss still stands as the only one Dedduanglek has suffered in six fights so far in ONE, and his huge win against Taiki Naito in his next outing at ONE Fight Night 21 cemented him as the #4-ranked fighter in the division. Expect him to aim to keep it that way by scoring revenge against his fellow Thai.

Ferrari Fairtex vs. Dmitrii Kovtun

Two bantamweight contests could see the stacked striking division make a seismic shift at ONE Fight Night 24.

Ferrari Fairtex is on a dominant four-fight win streak in ONE, and he’ll look to add to it when he welcomes Russian newcomer Dmitrii “The Silent Assassin” Kovtun to the promotion.

A fifth victory would announce the Thai star as a genuine threat to the World Title. But Kovtun knows he can steal all the smoke and vault himself to the upper echelons of the division with a win on his debut, so this one is guaranteed to be a barnburner.

Nabil Anane vs. Felipe Lobo

Finally, towering striking sensation Nabil Anane is set to square off against #3-ranked bantamweight Muay Thai contender Felipe “Demolition Man” Lobo

Anane had a forgettable debut when he suffered a first-round finish at the hands of ONE Flyweight Kickboxing World Champion Superlek Kiatmoo9 at ONE Friday Fights 22 in June last year, but he quickly found his way to the winners’ column in another flyweight bout three months later. The Algerian-Thai then found back-to-back success when he decided to move to a more comfortable weight for his massive 6-foot-4 frame. His three-fight win streak will be on the line when he takes on Lobo, and he would want to be ready.

“Demolition Man” is looking to re-establish himself in the upper echelon of the division following a valiant showing against two-sport World Champion Jonathan “The General” Haggerty at ONE Fight Night 19 last February. While he was unsuccessful in his World Title challenge, he showed his power by rocking Haggerty in the earlier rounds of their match. The Brazilian sensation will undoubtedly use that power to try and take out Anane on August 2.
