Another high-profile matchup has been added to the ever-growing ONE Fight Night 23: Buntan vs. Meksen card.

Former ONE Bantamweight Kickboxing World Champions Petchtanong Petchfergus and Alaverdi “Babyface Killer” Ramazanov are now scheduled to square off at the Friday, July 5, event inside the iconic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

Thai striker Petchtanong is revered in his homeland, given that he has over 350 wins to his name and has won the WBC and WMC Muay Thai World Titles.

He claimed the ONE bantamweight kickboxing crown by unseating Hiroki Akimoto at ONE 163 in November 2022 but would later be stripped of it after failing an out-of-competition drug test.

The 38-year-old will be looking to put all that behind him when he returns to the world’s largest martial arts organization against Ramazanov on July 5. But he’ll have his work cut out for him.

“Babyface Killer” is an accomplished striker out of Russia who hones his craft with the famed Team Mehdi Zatout in Thailand.

He was crowned the inaugural ONE Bantamweight Kickboxing World Champion after defeating China’s Zhang Chenglong at ONE: MARK OF GREATNESS in December 2019. And though he failed to defend in his next outing, Ramazanov has stayed active and is currently #3-ranked in the division.

The former World Champions’ clash comes at an interesting time for the bantamweight kickboxing bracket.

ONE Fight Night 22, which went down last weekend, saw a new contender rise in the division when promotional newcomer Wei Rui took the top-ranked position by defeating Hiroki Akimoto by a razor-thin decision.

Wei will be looking to cement his dominance with another win, and either Petchtanong or Ramazanov could be on the cards for the Chinese star.

They would have time to do battle, too, as reigning divisional king Jonathan Haggery is set to defend the ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Title against flyweight titleholder Superlek at ONE 168: Denver in September.

Regardless of the result of that bout, “The General” will likely have a challenger waiting for him in the bantamweight kickboxing division when the dust settles.

ONE Fight Night 23 continues to heat up, with a laundry list of exciting bouts set to bolster the card headlined by the battle for the inaugural ONE Women’s Strawweight Kickboxing World Title between Filipino-American standout Jackie Buntan and striking legend Anissa Meksen.
