A blockbuster bantamweight Muay Thai pairing between two legends of the sport has been added to a huge upcoming ONE Championship card. On April 5, ONE Friday Fights 58 will feature Nong-O Hama taking on “Left Meteorite” Kulabdam Sor Jor Piek Uthai in a pivotal clash at Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

Both men are on contrasting paths in their careers, and they’ll be hoping to add a significant chapter to their respective stories inside the iconic venue.

Former bantamweight Muay Thai king, Nong-O, suffered back-to-back losses for the first time in his ONE tenure last year, which ended the dominant 10-fight run that saw him take control of the stacked division.

The world stood still when he lost the coveted strap to British striking superstar Jonathan Haggerty via a devastating first-round knockout at ONE Fight Night 9 in April, and it reeled once again when the Thai legend fell to another finish at the hands of a dangerous young gun Nico Carrillo in December.

Despite those defeats, Nong-O still stands as the #2-ranked contender, and he’ll be looking to prove that he still has plenty left in the tank when he goes up against Kulabdam.

“Left Meteorite’s” path in ONE Championship has been nothing short of tumultuous. The Thai star had a promising start upon his arrival in 2019, with back-to-back wins in his first two outings. However, he then hit a rough patch and suffered three losses in his next four fights.

Kulabdam found his stride and then some at ONE Friday Fights last year, though, claiming three straight first-round knockout victories thanks to his show-stopping punching power.

The former two-time Lumpinee Stadium Muay Thai World Champion will be out to capitalize on that momentum against Nong-O. Taking out the legendary icon would certainly add to his notoriety and make a legitimate case for his inclusion in the bantamweight Muay Thai division’s top five.

Their battle will add further heat to the already scorching ONE Friday Fights 58 cards. It was recently announced that the event will be headlined by a monumental trilogy matchup between Superbon Singha Mawynn and Marat Grigorian for the ONE Interim Featherweight Muay Thai World Championship, so the “Art of Eight Limbs” is set to reign supreme in Bangkok on April 5.
