That bout will air live in U.S. primetime and take place at the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand–the same venue in which he successfully defended his Muay Thai gold with a stunning first-round knockout just six months ago, extending his four-fight winning streak that’s established him among the planet’s top pound-for-pound strikers.

Tawanchai knows that if he wants to keep that status, he’ll have to first get past the scrappy Georgian this Friday. A win will also do wonders for his ultimate goal of capturing the ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Title. He said: “Winning is really important, as it’s my first ONE Championship kickboxing fight. I need to keep my winning streak so that I get my chance to win the kickboxing belt.”

Chasing gold in another sport is something that makes sense for the ambitious 24-year-old who absolutely refuses to accept mediocrity. To that end, the Bangkok native sports a tattoo that reminds him to reach for big goals–like becoming a two-sport ONE World Champion–each and every day: “I got this tattoo because I’m a dream chaser, and I drive myself to make my dreams come true. I’ve never missed a dream. I want the kickboxing belt on my shoulder.”
A new title will further cement Tawanchi’s already glorious legacy
By all standards, Tawanchai has already achieved greatness by winning and defending the ONE Featherweight Muay Thai World Title. With his incredible technical mastery of Muay Thai, shocking power in his hands and feet, and all-around cool demeanor in the heat of battle, he might be the world’s most talented stand-up fighter.

But dream chasers never stop chasing, which is exactly why he’ll now pursue 26 more pounds of gold. Now just days away from his pivotal showdown with Kiria, Tawanchai added: “I don’t think a person should stick with just one dream. We don’t stop growing. I completed my Muay Thai dream. Next is the kickboxing belt.”
