An interim queen will be crowned when Denice Zamboanga takes on Alyona Rassohyna on October 4. The #2-ranked Zamboanga will be looking forward to her five-round tilt after Stamp Fairtex withdrew from her fight at ONE 167 in June. Instead, the Filipina athlete proved why she was slated to challenge for the gold by defeating late-notice replacement Noelle Grandjean at the event. Currently unbeaten in her last three fights, ‘The Menace’ will aim to finally square off against her former teammate, Stamp, in a World Title unification bout by extending her win streak to four.

Standing in her way is #4-ranked Rassohyna. The 34-year-old is a grappling specialist with 11 of her 13 career victories coming on the canvas. Rassohyna will be desperate to meet her old foe once she gets past the challenge of ‘The Menace’. The Ukrainian fighter became the first fighter to hand the Thai megastar a defeat in MMA when she submitted her in 2021. Both fighters went the full distance, but the veteran fighter managed to submit her via a guillotine choke just seconds before the buzzer.

However, Stamp went on to settle the score eight months later when she defeated her via decision at the ONE Women’s Atomweight MMA World Grand Prix quarterfinals at ONE: EMPOWER in September 2021. With a trilogy fight on the horizon for the Ukrainian, Rassohyna will look to keep her best foot forward against Zamboanga.

Winner of ONE Fight Night 25 likely to face Stamp Fairtex on her return

The three-sport queen is going through one of the toughest times of her career. Stamp suffered a torn meniscus during her training, which forced her out of ONE 167. She was all set to take on her former training partner, Denice Zamboanga, in a highly exciting clash. However, it seems the fight will have to wait just a bit longer till the time Stamp recovers. Stamp has undergone surgery and is going through intense physical therapy to help her return to action soon.

Matt Lucas, Director of Public Relations at Fairtex Training Center, gave out the details of her recovery. He pointed out how Stamp and her family are working hard during this period. While there is no announcement about her return, the 26-year-old is focusing on the road ahead with laser focus. During a recent interview, Zamboanga made it clear that she is willing to wait for Stamp and wants her to be fully fit. But she first needs to get past the challenge of the 34-year-old Ukrainian veteran
