Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson recognizes talent when he sees it, and the 13-time MMA World Champion sees talent in top-ranked bantamweight contender Fabricio “Wonder Boy” Andrade. Andrade is set to run it back with John “Hands of Stone” Lineker for the vacant ONE Bantamweight World Title in the main event of ONE Fight Night 7 on Prime Video this Friday, February 24.

And to get fans hyped, flyweight king Johnson took to his YouTube channel, Mighty Gaming, to break down some of “Wonder Boy’s” most impressive performances in ONE Championship. The first fight reviewed was the 25-year-old phenom’s dominant promotional debut against Mark “Tyson” Abelardo at ONE: NO SURRENDER in July 2020.
Demetrious Johnson went into the details of Fabricio Andrade’s fight game
Breaking down Andrade’s fluid attack before the rear-naked choke finish in the second round, “Mighty Mouse” shared, “He’s very fast, right? And for the weight class, he’s pretty tall, and he moves pretty well too, right? So, as he’s striking, he strikes, and he’s always moving back because this gentleman is a lot smaller than him.”
“As he backs up, he’s looking for the guy to overextend. The other guy is doing a good job trying to close the distance, but he’s not been able to get there fast enough because Andrade has good footwork.” Andrade kept Abelardo at bay for most of the first frame by baiting him into range, where he countered with jabs, straights, and elbows.
The same happened at the start of round two, but it was all over for “Tyson” when Andrade decided to switch levels and attack from the canvas.“Wonder Boy” returned six months later for his sophomore appearance in the Circle against Japanese veteran Shoko Sato. And though he only scooped a unanimous decision win on that occasion, Johnson was still impressed with his output.
Demetrious Johnson predicted Fabricio Andrade’s striking to be a crucial factor in the bout
Since that win, Andrade has been on an absolute roll, with three back-to-back knockouts. And it would, arguably, be four by now if the knee he threw at Lineker in their first meeting last October had landed where it was intended to instead of as the low blow that rendered “Hands of Stone” unable to continue.

The Tiger Muay Thai standout dominated proceedings at ONE on Prime Video 3, leaving Lineker with little chance to piece anything significant together. As a result, he enters Friday’s bout as a favorite to win and claim the 26-pound ONE World Title.
“Mighty Mouse” is of the same opinion, and he believes Andrade’s striking will be the decisive factor. He added, “My boy has been super impressive, this gentleman. His striking is literally pretty damn good, high level like I think he can probably do well in a kickboxing or even in a Muay Thai Fight.”

“I’ve heard stories of everybody saying that his striking, [makes him] one of the best strikers out there in Tiger Muay Thai in mixed martial arts. I’m very excited to see this guy fight.”
