But the American superstar believes there is still room for improvement, and he’s been working hard on further developing his arsenal. Johnson hopes to showcase his evolution when he rematches longtime flyweight king Adriano “Mikinho” Moraes in the main event at ONE 161 on August 26.

Despite being lauded as the MMA GOAT, “Mighty Mouse” hasn’t stopped working on his weaponry as he seeks to score redemption against his Brazilian rival. And one particular area that he has been focusing on is his BJJ.
“Training is going great. I already feel like I’m in great shape. I will say the biggest thing is because I joined a jiu-jitsu school. And now I’m training pure jiu-jitsu,” Johnson shared.

“I found a legit jiu-jitsu gym under a new professor, Yan McCane, a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt for 10 years. [He’s an] absolute monster. Very knowledgeable. Now, I’ve been doing a lot more jiu-jitsu because it’s eight minutes from my house and a gold mine for me because it, kind of, breathes life back into my development.”

Moraes saw off Johnson with a flying knee in their first meeting at ONE on TNT I in April last year. The 12-time flyweight World Champion was handed the first knockout of his professional career by “Mikinho,” who extended his dominant reign at the top of the division in the process.
The loss has haunted “Mighty Mouse” ever since, so he is fired up to claim victory in the much-anticipated rematch.

Instead, he is laser-focused on putting on the best performance he can at ONE 161.
“As I said, I’m working my ground game, working on my stand-up. I’m making sure when I step into the Circle on 26 August in Singapore, I’m the best version of myself. That’s what I’m always striving for. I’m always striving for perfection, and I just hope that I go out there and execute and not make any mistakes.”
