With less than a month until ONE Fight Night 15: Tawanchai vs. Superbon, the evening’s card has seen some major changes.

Bantamweight kings Jonathan Haggerty and Fabricio Andrade were set to clash for the vacant kickboxing strap in one of three World Title bouts featured at the October 6 event. However, ONE Championship recently announced that their much-anticipated meeting will instead headline ONE Fight Night 16, which is scheduled for Friday, November 4.

Both men have been eager to mix it up to try and join a rare group of individuals who hold a World Title in two sports at the world’s largest martial arts organization, but they will have to wait a bit longer. In its place, however, will be a match with just as much potential to produce fireworks, as former featherweight MMA titleholder and top-ranked contender Thanh Le will take on #3-ranked Ilya Fremanov for the interim crown.

Le was originally scheduled for a rematch with reigning king Tang Kai at ONE Fight Night 12 this past July, but the Chinese star suffered an injury and could not compete. But, given the stacked division is itching to stay active, the Vietnamese-American athlete has fittingly been awarded a crack at the interim World Title. He amassed an impressive five-fight winning streak that included a World Title victory and a successful defense prior to meeting Tang at ONE 160 in August 2022.

But the reigning king put on a technical masterclass to nullify Le’s finishing ability that evening, and he walked away with the crown as a result. Since then, the 50/50 and Mid City MMA representative has been champing at the bit to get it. Meanwhile, Freymanov debuted at ONE on Prime Video 2 in October last year and immediately made a statement by knocking out former two-division ONE World Champion Martin Nguyen in the first round of their matchup.

The Russian star returned to action earlier this year and scored an opening-round submission victory over dangerous Mongolian Shinechagtga Zoltsetseg at June 2023’s ONE Fight Night 11.

The Kuznya Fight Club has rightfully earned his place in the divisional rankings, and he has believed that he deserves a shot at gold since he arrived in the promotion, so fans can bet he’ll bring his A-game on October 6.
