Muay Thai veteran Seksan Or. Kwanmuang is still proving himself in competition on the global stage of the ONE Championship, but he is planning for the future while doing so. On U.S. primetime on Friday, September 6, “The Man Who Yields To No One” will look to add to his legend in the Circle when he takes on British superstar Liam “Hitman” Harrison in a catchweight Muay Thai bout inside Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado, at ONE 168: Denver.
Seksan arrived in ONE at the very first edition of ONE Friday Fights in January last year and quickly established himself as one of the most electrifying talents in the weekly martial arts showcase by collecting eight straight wins and some well-deserved performance bonuses.

In an interview with ONE, the 35-year-old discussed how his success has allowed him to invest in his community and spread his knowledge of all things striking. “I’ve been running my Muay Thai gym – Sor Seksan Gym – for two to three months now. I used the money I earned from Muay Thai matches and auctioning off boxing shorts and gloves to fund the construction of my Muay Thai gym,” he said.

“Currently, we have around 30 kids coming to train at the gym every day. So far, I’ve sent many kids to fight in various local boxing rings. It makes me happy to see the kids use the money they earn to buy snacks or give it to their parents.”

He may be running his own training facility, but Seksan still hones his lethal skills at Or. Kwanmuang gym. That’s because Sor Seksan is not a place for him. Its focus is on offering children the opportunity to learn Muay Thai without any financial burden, which is a goal that is close to “The Man Who Yields To No One’s” heart.

“The reason why I provide free training for kids is because I used to see many children in the neighborhood practicing boxing on the streets or in parking lots. I felt sorry for them, so I decided to start a camp to support these kids and provide them with a proper place to train Muay Thai,” he said. “If any child is interested in learning, they can come to the camp. It’s completely free.”
On top of owning a gym and staying on top of his game ahead of his clash with Harrison at ONE 168, Seksan also has to fulfill his duties as a father. The many roles could easily lead a fighter, business owner, or father to burn out, but the Muay Thai great embraces each with a smile on his face. “For balancing the three hats, if you think it’s hard, it’s hard, but if you think it’s easy, it’s easy. For me, it’s easy,” Seksan said.
