ONE Strawweight Kickboxing World Champion Jonathan Di Bella passionately works on keeping his world-class striking skills on point on a daily basis, but he holds one other thing almost as close to his heart – coffee.
The Italian-Canadian star will defend his throne for the first time against Danial Williams at ONE Fight Night 15: Tawanchai vs. Superbon on Friday, October 6, and he uses the drink to fuel his fight preparation as it holds special significance for him and his family.

“The first time I had an espresso shot was when I was, like, six years old. My grandfather gave me a shot of espresso, and yeah, it felt good after that,” he shared in an interview with ONE. “My family’s from a village in Campagna. I remember being in Italy when I was young, opening the windows in the morning, and the first thing you smell is coffee and espresso. That’s one of my favorite memories.” Di Bella is undefeated in 11 professional kickboxing contests and owns a pristine boxing record. In his first match at the world’s largest martial arts organization, the 27-year-old claimed the vacant ONE Strawweight Kickboxing World Championship and, with it, his spot among the planet’s striking elite.
Throughout his competitive journey, coffee has been his constant companion for him, so much so that even his family makes fun of him for it. “I used to go to training, and it would always be a thing – an espresso before training. My family even jokes about it: ‘Jon has an espresso before training.’ It’s a little inside joke we have,” Di Bella said. “I’m used to it since a young age. It’s kind of my own thing. I don’t know about other people. They can try it, but, yeah, you have to get used to it before doing it before training. I’d recommend that in the morning.”

The strawweight kickboxing king’s passion for the beverage has even led him to introduce his own brand to the market for his fellow connoisseurs to enjoy – Di Bella Espresso. While he still has a lot of fighting in his future, he believes it’s never too early to venture into other interests. “I was always thinking about doing something that has nothing to do with fighting. I want to have a little peace of mind, a little escape from fighting. It’s always good to have that,” he revealed. “I pick the beans, so it’s, for sure, going to be the best. And I saw the whole ground, roasting, and everything. I think everybody should get it.”
Di Bella has one eye on the future
Taking the business off the ground is certainly a goal for Di Bella. But for now, he’s focused on cementing his spot at the top of ONE’s strawweight kickboxing division. Thankfully, he has plenty of support to keep his business going while he trains for his upcoming fight.

“Me and my girlfriend started it last year. It’s our business. It’s me and her together. It’s hard [to juggle everything], but I have a lot of help,” Di Bella said. “The espresso part, I’m still not thinking about it as work yet. I’m just having fun with it. But my girlfriend and some of her colleagues are helping me out with that. They’re taking care of it, especially now that I’m in the fight camp.”
