Allycia Hellen Rodrigues is positive that she’ll prove herself to be the planet’s best atomweight Muay Thai fighter at ONE Fight Night 20: Todd vs. Phetjeeja on Prime Video.

This Friday, March 8, in the co-main event of ONE’s landmark all-female fight card, the Brazilian sensation will put her ONE Atomweight Muay Thai World Title on the line against decorated Spanish contender Cristina Morales. Set to air live in U.S. primetime from Bangkok’s Lumpinee Boxing Stadium, that World Title clash will mark Rodrigues’ second defense of her gold.

The titleholder says she’s been laser-focused in her preparations for Morales, well aware that her foe comes into the fight riding a wave of momentum: “I always focus on my fights, but whenever I defend my belt, that focus is doubled. This time I’m not going to let anything get in my way. Nothing at all. I can’t wait to fight and show who I really am,” said Allycia Hellen Rodrigues.

She further added, “I believe it will be a good striking fight. She’s coming off a big win, so I’m looking forward to our showdown.” Indeed, the Spanish star looked phenomenal in her most recent outing, demolishing Anna “Supergirl” Jaroonsak inside one round.

However, will she be able to get through Morales? What’s more, Morales brings a wealth of kickboxing accolades to the table. Before she joined ONE, the 30-year-old captured the ISKA Atomweight K-1 World Title and had established herself as one of Europe’s top kickboxing talents.

Despite those accomplishments, Rodrigues is quick to point out that their clash at ONE Fight Night 20 is a Muay Thai – not kickboxing – contest: “I don’t think our styles are comparable. [Morales] comes from kickboxing, and I’ve trained Muay Thai my whole life. But I realized that she likes striking, and so do I. So, it will be a great fight. She has good combinations of punches and knees, which is how she managed to win her last fight,” said Rodrigues.

A supremely talented clinch fighter with dangerous elbows and knees in close, Rodrigues is, in many ways, a true Muay Thai specialist. In her last appearance, the Phuket Fight Club representative moved up in weight to challenge Smilla “The Hurricane” Sundell for her ONE Strawweight Muay Thai World Title.

While she came up short in that bout, Rodrigues says her performance is proof that she’s among the best of the best strikers in the world. With that in mind, she’s confident that Morales won’t give her anything she hasn’t seen before: “But, honestly, I’ve faced the best on the circuit in several different styles. And after the last fight, I had in a higher division against a girl twice my size, I can’t see any danger in anyone else.”
